Black History Month

Leading this national community of people with diverse lived-experiences, cultures, races, social experiences, and self determination is a consistent source of humble learning. I am blessed and honored to learn beside each of you, especially our DEI Leadership Council comprised of Black/African American PFAnetwork members. In an honest attempt to contribute to Black History Month – we are elevating an important conversation about how curiosity of the history of Black and African Americans in the US needs to be encouraged all year long. And as we move forward celebrating cultural observances and supporting awareness building, it must be done in a way that recognizes a person’s background, particularly their skin color, influences the health care they receive EVERY day. PFCCpartners remains committed to the practice and teaching of cultural humility. To all of you, I am grateful for your important teachings and consistently expanding our thinking.

Black history is American history - and while amplified every February, it is something that we should be talking about and learning from all year long.
– Naomi Williams, PFE Technical Expert
