Nicole Ziehl

Wyoming

I am Nicole Ziehl. I live in Casper, Wyoming and I am a family caregiver. I wanted to join this advisory board because I believe I can provide a unique and fresh viewpoint. I am especially interested in the process of educating patients and families about engaging in the health care system. I believe there is work to be done in creating patient-centric approaches in health care and that I can lend a voice to these discussions.

I was a grandchild to grandmother caregiver, and I think I reflect the diversity of caregivers that will be helpful to this organization. I have experience as a former CNA and EMT and now have provided direct care for both my grandfather and my grandmother. My mother and father-in-law are also in their 80’s, and I counsel them for health care and will be their care providers when they need more assistance. My parents are in their late 60’s and are entering the Medicare/Medicaid system. I recently completed a certificate course in medical coding and billing because I want to learn about the processes that will affect my loved ones.

My husband and I are nearly empty nesters. We have a 23-year-old son and a 19-year-old daughter. We are active in our church and with our local American Farm Bureau. I look forward to all the PFAnetwork will accomplish and am excited to be a part of this organization.
