Mary Schramke

Hawaii

Mary began her career as a scientist and is now a retired biotech executive. Her volunteer Patient and Family Advisor efforts are centered on giving voice to all people, including those who are less capable, due to aging, illness or other life challenges. 

Mary’s local Patient and Family Advisor (PFA) efforts are coordinated by the Sutter Health/Palo Alto Medical Foundation involving projects in Quality Improvement, Patient Safety and Patient Engagement Research in Northern California. 

Mary is a member of the National Partnership for Women and Families who have provided patient and family perspective to the Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CORE) Yale University, New Haven, CT. 

Mary’s PFA efforts at the Sutter Health include the CMS sponsored Million Hearts® Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) Risk Reduction project and the Adult Immunization Best Practices Learning Collaborative project sponsored by American Medical Group Association (AMGA). 

Nationally, Mary is an advisor with the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) sponsored Quality Innovation Network National Coordinating Center (QIN NCC) team compiling best practices of high performing nursing homes. Mary also is an Advisory Group Member for the initiative on Addressing Adult Immunization and Chronic Disease Management to Improve Population Health, as sponsored by the American College of Physicians (ACP).
