Kathy Burkett served as the Parent - President of University Hospitals, Rainbow Babies & Children's Patient and Family Partnership Council for 3 years. As the mother of a daughter with a rare genetic disorder and complex medical needs, she has spent many years being her advocate while navigating the healthcare system. 

As President she served on the UH - Rainbow Quality Council as well as the Family - Faculty Committee, ensuring the patient and family voice is represented. Currently, Kathy’s work includes, observation during rounding on Critical Care units and providing clinicians feedback about their patient-family interaction, mentoring new Patient Family Advisors as well as leading patient-family Outreach at UH - Rainbow. 

Kathy is committed to engaging leaders at the organizational level to influence and impact the patient experience. Through her leadership, UH - Rainbow's Partnership Council is viewed as a trusted partner and has a positive influence on patient outcomes.
