SIDM2021 Patient Summit: A Deeper Dive Into Disparities in Diagnosis

Join patients, patient advocates, family members, healthcare professionals, students, researchers, policymakers, and others dedicated to patient engagement in improving diagnosis at the 2021 SIDM Patient Summit. This year’s summit will echo and amplify the SIDM 2021 conference theme: Reducing Disparities; Improving Diagnosis. Adding to the conference’s focus on racial, ethnic, gender, and age disparities in diagnostic quality and safety, the Patient Summit will expand the conversation to include disability status, mental health diagnoses, and obesity.

Their esteemed speakers will provide background on the myriad barriers to diagnostic quality that accompany these conditions. During the second half of the summit, they will shift to a more solutions-oriented discussion with our speakers in a panel format engaging in conversation with each other and the audience Q&A in a panel format.
