Quality Improvement Basics for Advisors • Part 1

Patient Family Advisors partnering on quality improvement teams is key to having the patient voice represented. Quality improvement happens in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare settings. Advisors new to quality improvement, or how changes are made within healthcare, can benefit from building skills and understanding quality improvement methods. These highly interactive sessions give Advisors context to have an impact when partnering on quality improvement teams. Advisors will walk away with an understanding of basic methods used in quality improvement.

Objectives:

  • Understand organizational culture and change processes

  • Practice a variety of process improvement methods including Lean, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis

  • Learn how data is used for improvement (understanding Run Charts, Control Charts)

  • Understand the role of patients and families in quality improvement

  • Learn how to prepare for partnership on process improvement teams to have the greatest impact

This virtual meeting will be held via Zoom meeting. You will be provided a link to the meeting after registration. All are welcome. For questions, please contact Lindsey Galli at lindsey@pfccpartners.com
