Denean Greene-Rivers

South Carolina

Denean Greene-Rivers is a global patient advocate, medical social worker and motivational speaker. Her expertise is maximized throughout the Carolinas and beyond with emphasizes on: minority health disparities and equity; children’s health and wellness with a focus on the medically fragile; and closing customer service gaps in the healthcare industry. 

Also, she has been recognized for her work that spans more than 20 years-- promoting healthcare advocacy and access while empowering patients and families to use their voices. Currently, Denean serves with South Carolina’s largest not-for-profit health organization PRISMA Health Midlands Children’s Hospital Family Advisory Council and on their Patient Care and Safety Committee. She also serves as Chairperson of the School Improvement Council (SIC) for Richland School District 2 - Blythewood High School, supporting more than 2000 students and the institution’s administration. Her service to the community spans more than 30 years and began as a teenager with the SC Arthritis Foundation and Richland Memorial Hospital. Denean’s passion for service and healthcare reflects her mantra: Quality Healthcare is a Right, Not a Privilege. 

Her education was fostered in South Carolina through graduate and undergraduate studies in social work. She maintains membership with the International Alliance of Patient’s Organizations (IAPO), the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
