Brandee Hicks is a skilled researcher in learning and public health as well as advocate of accessibility and inclusion for people with disabilities. She has worked as a public health practitioner on a variety of behavioral health and disability-related programs. And it is as an advocate that she brings her public health experience and keen eye for identifying community needs that she has created, B. Out of the Box. She launched B. Out the Box with the goal of changing the narrative about people with disabilities, exposing gaps in community accessibility, and celebrating innovative solutions for creating environments that are open to people of all abilities. Brandee always looks for opportunities to share her lived experience and insight in order to help underserved populations and improve healthcare experiences for all. She does this as an MS activist involved in legislative and policy activities, a patient family advisor, and a PCORI merit reviewer. She has lived in metro Atlanta for over 15 years, but she will always have a soft spot for her hometown of Detroit, Michigan.
